MURALS LIVE/ Peabody

Cedric 'Vise' Douglas

87 Lynnfield St. Peabody, MA

The Peabody Cultural Collaborative has been working to bring “Murals Live,” a public mural project to various locations in the City of Peabody. This past fall, Holden Oil and the adjacent liquor store, South Peabody Liquors are the first to participate in the project.

The goal of the Murals Live project is to make art accessible to everyone and inspire more public art in the downtown business district.

The project is funded in part by Rousselot and Holden's. The project was coordinated by the Peabody Cultural Collaborative, Peabody Main Streets, and Peabody Access Telecommunication. Beyond Walls provided technical assistance.

ELTONO @ IDEO

Traveling From

France

Mural Location

80 Prospect Street

With Central Square Business Association, Central Walls, and Ideo Cambridge, Beyond Walls oversaw the installation of a three-wall mural. IDEO Cambridge, a global design and innovation consultant located at 80 Prospect Street in Central Square, commissioned the piece. French artist, Eltono, was brought on to envelope the building with his signature aesthetic--bright colors and geometric patterns.

Eltono started painting street art in 1989. After ten years of working with spray paint, his practice evolved. He started using acrylic paints and tape to develop an abstract geometric language. “Eltono has worked in the streets of more than ninety cities around the globe and has shown his works in many world-renowned galleries and museums including the Tate Modern [London. UK], the Somerset House [London, UK], the Fundació Joan Miró [Barcelona, Spain], and Artium Museum [Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain].”
